I’ve been reading some new success strategy books and interesting to see that they are taking over what used to new age territory. They have realized that there is something more to the picture than just chasing material success because that led to pathologies and burn-out. The new direction is peak ‘experience’ rather than peak performance. Peak performance makes you live in the future because you are always striving towards something, you don’t ever reap the reward, it is always about the next. A peak experience however is pure reward, it is profound, it stands out from the norm. It is usually spontaneous, hence it is mystical, and the success authors can’t work out how to make the peak experience deliberate. But this is exactly what happens if you understand and live the Chi-Cycle. Working with particular organs at particular times forges new pathways and eventually the mystical becomes systematic. I am working on a book on ‘How to be a Modern Mystic’, but I’m thinking maybe my next book should be ‘The Mystical System’.
