This pattern doesn’t happen overnight. A fast-paced life, years of overwork, stress (financial or emotional), malnourishment (junk food and nutrient poor foods) combined with tension, intense worry, frustration, anger, hopelessness and depression deplete the yin of the kidney and the liver.
Symptoms:
Sallow complexion, brittle nails, dull occipital or vertical headache, insomnia, dream-disturbed sleep, constipation, numbness of limbs, malar flush, dizziness, eye dryness, blurred vision, propensity to outburst of anger, soreness of the lower back, dry throat, dry hair, dry skin, tinnitus, difficulty hearing, night sweating, feeling of heat of palms and soles of feet, difficult dry stools, nocturnal emissions, scanty menstruation or amenorrhea, delayed cycle, infertility in women, numbness in muscles, tingling in legs and arms, frequent waking (either at 1am or 3am), talking in your sleep.
