The liver is responsible for a smooth flow of chi around your body. It ensures that your muscles and organs have a constant supply of chi for movement, digestion, blood flow, and the flow of the emotions. If liver chi stagnates, due to emotional tension, ongoing stress and inappropriate diet, it creates symptoms.
Symptoms:
Abdominal pain and discomfort, abdominal distension, epigastric pain, stomach-ache (that gets worse if you are angry or that improves after massage), stomach rumbling, nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, acid reflux, belching and diarrhoea. Symptoms also include sighing (is a spontaneous way to release stagnant chi in the chest), hiccupping, feeling as if you have a lump in your throat, difficulty swallowing; and irregular periods, painful periods, PMS, sadness, depression, mood swings, fluctuating mental states, and feeling unhappy, wound-up or irritable.
