This pattern is affiliated with immunity and commonly results from a sedentary lifestyle and prolonged hunching over desks or devices, which constricts your breathing. It is also affiliated with the misuse of antibiotics (if taken for a cold, for example, they can lock the cold in the chest). These things create lung chi deficiency which affects respiration and causes shortness of breath. Lung chi cannot descend and it leads to coughing. Fluids cannot be transformed and turn into sputum. The voice becomes weak and speaking is uncomfortable. Defensive chi is weakened and the body is more prone to invasion of cold.
Symptoms:
Shortness of breath, cough, watery sputum, weak voice, exhausted, daytime sweating, dislike of speaking, dislike of cold, runny nose, bright-white complexion, sweating for no reason, frequent colds, tiredness.
